Take the Trans Canada Highway heading west towards Field and Golden, BC. The turnoff to Emerald Lake Lodge is located 1 kilometer west of Field, BC. Follow the road for 8 kilometers until a sign that says 'Overnight Guest Parking.' Turn left into the parking lot. In the parking lot is a cabin. Use the telephone in the cabin to call the front desk. A shuttle will be sent to pick up guests.

It was very romantic with a fireplace in the room and nice balcony over the lake. We were on second floor and the stairs were steep, carrying a suitcase too can be hard. One from the staff helped us. If you don’t like narrow stairs, then try to ask for ground floor rooms. This hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway.

Our stay at Emerald Lake Lodge exceeded our expectations - yes it’s expensive but an absolute joy to spend time there, we wish we’d stayed more than one night! The shuttle bus is easy and we had the best night’s sleep too. The lounge was lovely for a relaxed meal and you could eat from the main menu even though you weren’t sat in the mount burgess restaurant. Only downside was breakfast felt expensive for a buffet.

Overall, a wonderful place to stay! Our room was spacious with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking Emerald Lake. The only hiccup was waiting over 30 minutes for the shuttle to take us and our luggage back to our car (since there are no cars on the property, every overnight guest parks in a designated lot about 1km away).

After 15 years we were able to return to this beautiful hotel. As wonderful as we remembered. What could be nicer than having a cabin next to a beautiful lake, surrounded by mountains.
