Beautiful hotel, love the art deco style. Front desk was so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We didn't realize you can have a tour of the haunted room 311. Except it was not just a tour, it was a full performance! The bar & billiards restaurant did not disappoint, great food and atmosphere. We love staying at the Read House. Consistently good all around.

We spent the night at Read House on our way home from SC. I had read about the hotel and it's resident ghost in the past, so ....of course, we had to stay! The hotel is one of the most beautiful that I have stayed in. The history of the site is an added bonus. We took a tour of room 311 and had the most engaging guide. I totally recommend a stay at this hotel!! You must explore the hotel and the grounds along with a tour of 311. Our room was beautiful, the bed super comfy, and the staff amazing. Can't wait to stay there again.

I can’t say enough great things about “The Read House”, it was so beautiful. We celebrated our 31st anniversary, and it was worth every penny!!! I would definitely stay there again. I also need to mention that temperatures throughout the building was perfect no to hot or cold and we were allowed to adjust the temperature directly from the thermostat without issue. Lately, the “Bridgeman’s Restaurant” located in the hotel put our stay over the top!!!
