Beautiful looking building and room was on the small size but ok. Bed was very comfortable and shower was nice and hot. My gripes were mainly with the amenities. The electric car charging points did not work - they stated they were slow charging but after 1 hour my battery was even lower! We tried all 3 chargers, none worked. We had two electric vehicles, so it meant a drive out to find chargers after a long journey already. When we got back many non electric cars had parked in the charging spots - so I guess people know they don’t work well! Also felt annoyed that we couldn’t even use the swimming pool without an extra charge of £35 per person - it was an hour before the pool was closing so there was no way I was paying that much. I get that the spa facilities might cost, but simply a swim?! Nope I’m afraid this place feels like a licence to print money. I have been a big fan of Champneys in the past but I won’t be returning to this one again sadly.

Was really looking forward to staying here! The grounds where beautiful and the staff where great! Rooms are very dated bathroom was like a Travelodge with posh toiletries. plug next to bed was some funny plug so have to leave phone other side of the room, small old tv. Bed was two singles pushed together not really acceptable when you paid for a king size bed. Seats in room very uncomfortable and have been wrecked by dogs. Overall do pay the money to stay here plenty of better hotels in the area and cheaper

Air conditioner filter was on when we arrived, but all along top of unit was totally thick with dust fibres, not cleaned for a very long time. It was noisy. After wiping the dust off with a tissue , it became less noisy and also became cooler. Some black mould along base of shower tiles. Opening window in bathroom showed outside window sills desperate for new paint. 2 of the 3 large window roller blinds didn’t roll up at all, the fitting was off the wall and other wheel just turned around with no lifting , so had to put lights on in day and couldn’t see the lovely view outside. No manual for coffee machine or welcome booklet for wifi code or services or amenities. No extra blankets or pillows stored in room. Bed was comfortable and room surfaces were clean / not dusty. Except for the leaves on unnecessary and large imitation plant.
