This is a very tired property, purporting to be 5 Star, but actually only 3 Star at best. on arrival you drive down a long pot joled worn out drive way. this leads to a tired, poorly maintained hotel. Walking in the front door the front carpet was dirty and appeared not to have been swept or cleaned for a good while. Paintwork is chipped and tired. It was difficult to understand the Receptionist, who was foreign. I had to ask her to write down the name of the restaurant, as after 3 attempts, I still could not understand what she was saying. Room was basic, accommodation, definitely NOT 5 Star, classic Travelodge or Premier Inn. Flex shower missing from tap and temperature symbol missing from middle of shower control. Breakfast in Carrington Grill was a disaster, understaffed working very hard to try and keep ahead, filthy dirty carpet between food buffet area and seating area. Waited 15 minutes for fried eggs to be prepared "Too order", not ready available on buffet. Asked for 1 fried egg on fried bread. I was presented with 1 fried egg, which appeared to have "crash landed" on a slice of barely toasted toast, egg was half on toast which was still white bread and was burst over bread and toast. This is a tired poorly maintained hotel with dead ivy all up the front and rotten windows, which have not been painted for many years. Most of Staff try very hard but senior management are clearly NOT providing adequate support. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY STAYING AT THIS HOTEL.
