The cleaning staff and the breakfast lady do an amazing job! However, it seems nothing is fixed when broken. Even the toiletroll holder was busted, the tiles in the bathroom damaged and the grouting moldy. But is was very cheap and the bed was fine. And, as mentioned, it was surprisingly clean and the breakfast was brilliant for the price. Will visit again if the opportunity arises.

Perfect for a quick sleep

Worn down, and the room had a weird smell. But the location was perfect, the room very spacious and the manual check in system flawless. Would use it again for a quick nights of sleep, but not as a place for having a relaxing stay with the family.

It was comfortable size room with 2 beds far enough apart to prevent disturbing eachothers much needed sleep with snoring and such. Nice quiet on the garden side, (not on the beach side: Busy road + harbour noises from far it seemed. The breakfast was nice with super sweet staff lady. Great shower, very good water pressure. Plenty of storage space in cupboards. This hotel could do with a good renovation. The electric wiring and sockets look very outdated and even could be a dangerous fire hazard! The busy noisy street in front of the beach should be closed of for regular traffic. ( at least a ‘dam’ in the middle of the boulevard and 2 dead end streets on each side so businesses / residents can reach destinations). With maximum priority to pedestrians and bicycles. Nice stalls / market / beautiful park & flowers & art sculptures along the beach instead of cars please? Thank you.

Do not recommend this for other people that need a very cheap place to sleep that dont mind dead bugs and spotted furniture, their so called guestbook did not work so confirmation that breakfast and parking was reserved was impossible to do.

No top mattress on the bed, we slept bad and felt the springs from the mattress. No electric outlets by the bed or by the desk. The bathroom door had no lock and was peeling by old moist but fixed with actual staples in the bottom. Noisy neighbors. Perhaps good for ONE night but would not even recommend that to be honest.

Hotel Østersø is a hotel next to the coast. There is plenty of parking available if you come by car. The hotel is unmanned, which means that you must have a smartphone and you register digitally on a screen at the entrance. Once registered they provide you a code to enter the hotel and your room. There is no front desk, no shops, but a vending machine. The hotel looks like a time capsule where most of the original inventory from the 1970s is still in place. The rooms have the very basic things, but provide no amenities. On the positive side: clean room, black-out curtains, electric sockets, private bath with shower, warm water and soft towels. On the negative side: the smoke detector beeps once per minute for extended periods, and makes it very hard to sleep. Bring ear plugs . Either it is too sensitive or the batteries need to be replaced. The mattress was overly soft, not meant for heavy people. The place is just 20min from the border to Germany and is suitable for stays on the go, or for urgency, but it does not offer the comfort to provide a good night sleep.

On arrival we kept saying things like, "well, we're just going to sleep here," and, "it could be worse” but it did indeed get worse… It was very disorganised and complicated to get the code to access the room. But after an email that never arrived and several phone calls we got there. The room was extremely damp, with a smell that I will remember for the rest of my days, and full of cobwebs and insects. We lost count of the number of things that were broken, windows, paving slabs, ventilation, you name it! It's not a hotel, it's a run down youth hostel that the most adventurous of backpackers would be disgusted by. The advertising is very misleading. The dead bird outside of the room was probably the most charming part of our stay… This “horror hotel” should be shut down! (The view was nice though and the bed sheets were clean)
