Check in was chaotic, the rooms are dated, our room still had previous guests food in the fridge. Parking is poor, very few parking spots available at the hotel which cannot be booked in advance, you will need to pay and park 2 blocks away. The breakfast buffet was the best part of our stay. This hotel was pretty amazing. We had a pool and a wonderful Buffett breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean. The fire alarm went off at three am. Someone was apparently smoking in their room. Everyone moved out in an orderly manner onto the street. But there wasn’t any hotel staff around giving us direction or telling us what was going on.

Superb location! It doesn't get any better than this. Despite being family friendly and having lots of couples with children staying there, hotel is wonderfully quiet. Combine that with top notch mattresses, comfortable pillows and high quality linen, you'll have the best night sleep. We left the car at the hotel parking the day we came and didn't need it until we checked out. Hotel is only couple of minutes walk from shopping centre, plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. This is not my first time staying at Novotel Canberra and it certainly won't be the last.
