A comfortable stay

Lovely big room with two comfortable armchairs. Very quiet, despite the fact that there was a wedding reception elsewhere in the hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.

Great staff

Clean room. Wonderful staff. Great location. Hotel is a bit rundown overall. Good breakfast. Guyson reception were lovely. No ice in the bar was a bit of a letdown. And the broken gutter made a noise all night.

Never Again

Small room which was dated with very little cleanliness. I travel a lot and to pay £145 for a single bed is poor

Seen better days

The place had seen better days. Food options were limited. Hotel room was dated and in need of repairs. Overall the place needs an upgrade. It is very expensive for what it offers.

Beautiful grounds around hotel. However inside the hotel is very dated and in need of upgrading.

8/10 Very good

Nice historic hotel. Would recommend staying in a room in the original building. Felt like they were trying to cut too many corners to be called a spa resort.

8/10 Very good

Stayed at crutherland a few times now, always enjoyed it, kids love the pool, was disappointing not to receive robes which we always have before, after asking if any available we were told we would have to be charged which i said ok so we would have them for the pool and walking to and from the room to the pool, even after agreeing to pay we were then told there was none available in the full hotel so this put a little dampener on our trip, especially since i had to wait for quite a while as someone was away checking everywhere for them, apart from this we enjoyed our stay and breakfast was nice.
Mark, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good stay but rooms very tired and we even had holes in the pillow case and arm chairs were ripped and carpet very stained.
carol, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely and comfortable stay. The pool was nice and warm, perfect for a short winter break.
Sarah, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

I brought my elderly mum who doesnt handle stairs well. They have a lift but there are still stairs to negotiate. Pool closes early. Looks old and creaky inside.
Linda, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Definitely will return.

It was welcoming upon arrival, staff were Friendly, processional and accommodating. Even asked if I needed help with my luggage taken to the room! Room was great. Modern, clean and comfy. Went down to restaurant and again all staff were pleasant and nothing was an issue. Food was amazing and not overly priced. I went for the soup and smash burger. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had. It’s worth noting that the breakfast was advertised at £22 when booking so declined offer. Arrived and upon check in, breakfast was £12.00? What could be better was a better TV in room and being able to pay with American Express.

There is nothing wrong with the hotel and it was good value for the stay. Drinks were slightly more expensive than expected. Food was good. The hotel although nice is in need of some updating. All in all a pleasant stay sonewhere different.
Graeme, 1-night trip

Callum at the desk was fantastic. Breakfast was very good. The road leading to the hotel was full of forest trees, too scary for me but idle for people that love to he around forest.
Stella Fregene, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Pleasant stay, good on site parking, did have issue with hit water tap not turning on in room and also was expected to bring towel from room for pool due to a laundry issues, which is fine but no notice to say this and had toask fro towel at hotel reception rather than spa reception.
Jennifer, 1-night trip

Run down hotel. Beautiful setting but standards inside the hotel are poor. Would not recommend.

Freezing cold morning in sunny Scotland

Normally as i have stayed here on numerous occasions it has been really good, this time unfortunately it was a disaster. From being given what could only be described as a box cupboard for a room, no hot water so i had to have a freezing cold shower in the morning to being overcharged for my evening meal, which to be fair they refunded me. When i complained i just felt they were trying to brush it under the carpet, to a point of i will not be putting this as a first choice of hotel in the future. What makes it more annoying is that every other time it has been really good but it fell well below what i would expect for a 4 star hotel.
