I think this facilities is a good value because it’s inexpensive. The location is OK, close to the lake. It’s not fancy and there’s no view, but everything is clean and they have a nice little pool. Parking was easy and it wasn’t a problem not to have Staff on site. We would’ve enjoyed it more if it had air-conditioning, but again, it was much less expensive than other options we found.

All the positive reviews were a main reason to book here; however, the hotel is MEH. The room had a terrible smell. Lake Tahoe hotels are overpriced for the accommodations provided, and Firelite Lodge is no exception. It was doable for our purpose of a quick one-night stay, but I wouldn't stay longer than that. An earlier-than-normal check-out time was actually welcomed to escape the stench. To offset the vibes attempting to make this place sound amazing, it's just ok.

Housekeeping staff was nice and helpful! There is no lobby to check in or have some refreshments. Checking in process only by phone. I personally didn’t like it. I like hotels face to face check in . It felt like once housekeeping staff leaves for a day, you on your own . Not my cup of tea! It’s my personal opinion.
