Second stay in a month. Cute, old fashioned “motor lodge”. Rooms are individually decorated, with a fridge and microwave. Comfy beds. A/C was great! Nothing fancy, but if you’re looking for the Ritz, this is not the place for you! I would definitely stay here again.

Cactus Inn is an enjoyable stopover in the Route 66 journey. It’s a very quiet and homey place, feeling safe and decorated with lots of fun historical photos, memorabilia, unique art of the west. My room was clean and equipped with an apartment sized fridge/freezer and customary microwave etc. Staff was quick to respond with help as needed. And there are even a few Adirondack chairs to sit and chat or enjoy the sunset. I’ll stop over again

Property was decently clean and the bed was comfortable. However, all the wood surfaces were sticky, not to the touch, but if you sat anything on them, it stuck. All rooms were full and the parking spaces are very narrow, which was an iffy situation with all the big trucks in the area.

I am more than halfway through driving the route 66 from California to Illinois. This was a gem of a place. I arrived late in the evening called the number posted on the door and a very nice person. Gave me instructions about getting in my room. I booked through Expedia, but was dealing with a small roadside motel. It was so nice to have the individual interaction. The room was clean and everything was great on my drive. I will stay here again if I’m going through the area.

Last minute, as we were driving home from vacation we just needed a place to stay the night. Booked it about 5 hours out. We arrived after midnight. This is an old motel-office door was locked, but our room key was in the key drop (yes a key!) the room was decorated with a vintage vibe, or maybe that was the original furniture? Either way it was cute! Everything was clean and tidy. Finding breakfast in McLean proved to be more difficult, but our night at the Cactus Inn was good.

We stayed in the "Kansas" room. It was decorated so darling! The room was clean and spacious. Check in/out was seamless. The price of the room is more than fair. The location is fabulous if you are eating at the scrumptious Red River Steakhouse next door and attending the dance at the McLean Dance Hall, like we were! :)
