After admiring this beautiful hotel from the outside for many years, the situation arose where myself & 2 friends had the opportunity to book for 3 nights.
Unfortunately our stay was very disappointing.
There were several factors including the restaurant female staff member being very rude and accessory both on Saturday & Monday, this resulted in me & my crutches having to go backwards & forwards to reception(the booking was in my name & I had the receipts), which was not an ideal scenario. no suitable vegetarian food options except the salad bar & a pasta dish, (the salad bar would have been fine, but it was mostly empty & we ended up with just beetroot & coleslaw) my service dog not being allowed to access the same areas I could, so it limited my ability to fully relax. This contravenes the DDA.
Reception being very understaffed, which is not their fault, but the responsibility of head office or management.
The website needs updating as it says it has been adults only since 01/03/24 & it was definitely not.
I have great sympathy with the staff, as they have been spread too thin with multiple roles & long hours, but ultimately, it affects the comfort & relaxation of guests.
