Staff were fine...everything else was just about ok...beautiful old building definitely in need of refurbishment...being advised that the lifts were broken 1 day before travel was poor!..breakfast was disappointing so we cancelled 2 further days breakfast bookings (i asked if it was possible to have poached eggs to be told that the machine was broken to allow for this)?..We enjoyed our stay in Exeter but would not recommend this hotel as it is obviously being run down by the current ownership.

Lovely hotel situated opposite Exeter Central railway station. There is parking @ £12.50 per night. We arrived at 12.30 to get a parking space, and although check in was 2pm the very help receptionist checked and said our room was ready. Lovely clean spacious room on tbe first floor with a good bathroom and excellent shower. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk of bars cafes and restaurants. We would definitely stay again

Hotel fit the bill for a short stay, but room and amenities were not as updated as expected for the price. During a heatwave, the room and hallways were much hotter than the outside air. Though there are limits to what the hotel can manage without AC, opening some windows or encouraging airflow with fans in hallways of the hotel may have helped cool the entire building down. Benefits: very convenient location, quiet room with beautiful view of the countryside, and helpful staff, but would also consider other locations for a next trip.

We arrived very early to get a parking space as parking is difficult otherwise. We were checked on later by a friendly receptionist who double checked our car registration ans showed us she'd entered it correctly on the computer. She asked if we wanted to book breakfast but we didn't. When she handed us the key we were surprised to find it was exactly the same room as the one we'd stayed in last week. Again it was clean, and spacious with a nice shower. Lovely building and very situated for all amenities
