Hallmark Inn UC Davis

I only stayed here as the booking was last minute and there were not other rooms available in town. The carpets are of the old-and-greasy type where I didn't feel comfortable removing my shoes. The building is directly across a small street from an Amtrak train station and while it doesnt come through a lot of times it is certainly loud. Ground floor windows are directly accessible from the street and don't feel safe at all. This place tries to nickel and dime you by charging extra for more towels etc. The kids at the front desk were not very professional but not rude.

This place was really great one of the best of my six day road trip. Nothing but good things to say about everything from service to quick WiFi. On a downside, pool was a bit cold and there is a train that passes by every once in a while, but I sleep with white noise, so it didn't bother me much. You can just step outside and walk around this cool little downtown.

The room smelled funny and we wished we were given more coffee..

pros: good location central to downtown shopping. bike rental requiring deposit but otherwise free to use. approximately 3-4 blocks to ucd campus. clean facility and room con: no free full breakfast. 2 coupon vouchers worth $8.50 each at Cafe 110 and every day no matter what time the cafe does not have items to make the food you want...ended up with pastries every day. long check in time

Hotel was nice. Location was great, close to many bars and restaurants. But our AC did not work well which made it uncomfortable. It was a very hot weekend.
