Following the reservation of two rooms via Hotels.com, payment was not processed at the time of booking, a departure from standard practice. Subsequently, emails were received that appeared to be fraudulent, requesting payment via a provided link.
Upon contacting the hotel, payment was successfully processed. However, approximately six days prior to the scheduled arrival, notification was received that one room was unavailable due to maintenance. The alternative accommodation offered was a shared dormitory, which was less than ideal.
