Lovely cabin in a great location, hot tub was great and easy to fill/empty, size of bedrooms ok (no storage so have to live out of suitcase), living room and kitchen nice sizes and cosy. Location great for most things on south coast and only a few hours from airport. Would 100% stay here again as so much more to explore and whole family enjoyed staying at Asolfsskali Cottage

What a fantastic location! Near to small restaurants, 30 mins drive to Vik. Wonderful scenery. Make sure to hike behind the cottage and see the gorge. Lots of sleeping space 2 bedrooms and the loft upstairs. Loved it.

Perfect oasis

The cottages are lovely and well taken care of. They are a little piece of heaven. I only wish we had booked for longer. The hot tub was an amazing perk that we used everyday. The kitchen was well equipped and the decor was lovely. This was certainly the highlight of our trip.

We were greeted at the gate by the sheep and they led us to our cabin. So much fun. The hike to the gorge was amazing. We also got to play fetch with the farm dogs. The cabin was comfortable and clean. The hosts are extremely kind.

We had an excellent stay at Ásólfsskáli Cottage! The cottage is clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. It’s in a beautiful location on a farm by the mountains, with stunning views and great hiking nearby. Katrin, the owner, provided outstanding service. We lost a SIM card from our drone, which had all our Iceland memories, and she found it in a vacuum bag! We’re so grateful for her kindness and extra effort. We would love to come back and highly recommend this place!

I gave 3 stars because when we walked in our cabin there must had been about over a dozen flies inside the cabin which we had to kill one by one before going to sleep ..that was nasty. The only bugs I saw in my 7 day trip to Iceland. I don’t know why they were there???? Other than that The cabin was wonderful. Very cozy and modern had everything for us. Heat was amazing. Bathroom small but very comfortable. Overall a great experience while in Iceland. The lady at check in is very friendly she helped us when we had a question. They have beautiful animals and a friendly dog. I enjoyed my stay here.

We stayed with our 3 boys here. Great stop during our South Coast trip. Great kitchen. We shopped at Vik before we checked in. Nice area for the boys to play and they had the BEST dogs that played ball, watched over us and made us laugh! One even watched over our youngest in the geothermal hot tub at the cottage. Great spot! We would stay again. Very nice hosts!

The cottage is very nice and the setting is incredible. Behind the cottage is a stream and a trail that offers utterly stunning beauty from the first steps. We used the hot tub, which is a very nice extra. This was our favorite stay in Iceland and I would probably have given a 5 star review even if the cottage was mediocre because the area and the property / surroundings warrant it. But the cottage is very well appointed if you want to cook dinner and stay in. It's excellent overall. We went to Anna's restaurant next door and had world class lamb chops. I would highly recommend this cottage. A small area of improvement would be better beds. In our cottage there was no queen as listed. We found one room with a double and one with a double under a bunk. I can say the double below the bunk is a very uncomfortable mattress (not really a mattress at all). Having a tall person in our party of three complicated sleeping. We have stayed at smaller rustic cabins with much better bedrooms. The other double bed is great so if you are a party of two you will be fine.

The Asolfsskali Cottage is just off the ring road in a beautiful Iceland farm. This is a family rental, which I did not appreciate until I asked for late check in. The hosts graciously let me check in late without a second thought, but had I known it was a family run vacation rental I would've made additional arrangements to show up within the stated check in hours! I stayed in the summer, there are black out blinds, a kitchen, loft, and two bedrooms. I was woken by some cows mooing, which I consider a bonus! I showed up too late to enjoy the hot tub, but I enjoyed reading the cottage book to learn more about its history and the family. Would love to stay here again in the future.
