816 Hotel KCexperience

I was greeting warmly and enthusiastically. I was allowed to check in a little (like within an hour) because I got to town early. The staff was friendly and listened to me tell them about my decision to come to town for Thanksgiving. I felt like I was visiting with friends.

The front desk clerk was very very nice. Refrigerator controls were broken frigerator not cool. Toilet was broken every few minutes it would start running again .All night long. I Furniture especially upholstered furniture very old does not look particularly clean. Neither does carpet. Beds comfortable and clean. Hand toweks and wash clothes like sandpaper and thin. Bath towels better. Breakfast buffet nice and clean. Good centralized location can walk to many things.

Disappointing stay. Probably the 8th time I’ve stayed there and most likely the last. Must be a change in ownership or management, but the brand has been cheapened by less amenities and or less quality amenities. Property needs TLC as well as upgraded amenities (threadbare towels, washcloths, sheets, worn rugs, broken doors, rodent traps next to front doors, cigarette butts everywhere, and more disappointing features).

What a great place. It was off the beaten path. The murals and space were pretty cool. The staff was amazing!! Thank you all!

I asked to check in an hour early. We were given the keys, however housekeeping was short staffed. So we had to get ready for the game in the hotel bathroom and car. Our room had a streetlight that shined directly in our eyes when we tried going to sleep. No shade or drapes to block it. The walls seemed paper thin. We could hear showers, flushing from other rooms and talking in the halls. The complimentary soap is horrible. The positive experience was the front desk staff was very friendly. Also I loved the room and the murals in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Also very convenient to area nightlife and restaurants.
