Our family didn’t want to leave. Got a themed room with bunk beds. It was 3 bunk beds that were full to queen size each with plenty of space between. Our own private door to the pool with a slide. Lobby was fancy, breakfast good.

The staff was really kind, helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was really nice! My room was clean but showed significant signs of wear. The bathtub faucets were stained and it took at least five minutes to get hot water beyond tepid. The king sized bed had seen better days as did the rest of the decor including the carpets. One last thing that I think is worth mentioning they use very strong air fresheners in the hallways which people would unplug because they were unbearable (even in my room) but they'd get plugged back in. It's good, but not great, ya know?

Awesome place in Castlegar! Great room with pool view! Queen Beds are comfortable and great with a fridge in the room and lots of ice on the second floor. The breakfast bar with waffles and eggs, cereals, fruit and good coffee. The slide, what a great slide . We stayed here for a golf tournament, what a blast! Even the 70 year old guest joined in. There is a decent restaurant (Mr Mikes) and a beer, wine and Liquor store attached to the restaurant to the hotel. A Starbucks, and Safeway in the adjacent mall. Could not have asked for anything more, Friendly staff, clean decent rooms and close to everything! Cheers and thanks for having us, we will be back! Dennis Dorling Delta BC

The hotel was quiet and affordable. The staff were kind and easy to communicate with. A/C in the room was fantastic and the beds were clean. It was definitely a dated hotel that could use some much needed renovations (shower was bubbled, paint was chipping, water damage to baseboards). The pool did not have easily accessible towels and the hot tub was slightly warmer than luke warm. Overall it was a good stay and we would return due to the location and reasonable cost.

The room was clean enough but the toilet kept running, there was ketchup on the wall in the bathroom and the flooring had gaps in it that were excessive. The staff were helpful. Breakfast was not great. Pool had a water slide and hot tub but nowhere to swim. The pool deck could have used a clean.

We enjoyed our stay at Super 8. The hotel was nice and the waterslide and breakfast was good. We're always happy to find waffles available for breakfast. The hot tub had cold water when we tried going in it, as cold or colder than the pool, so that was pretty disappointing though. The theme rooms looked like they'd be cool, though not worth the extra cost to us. When we went they were giving out a free appetizer coupon with purchase of a meal at Mr Mike's. Unfortunately we had gone and ate there first before checking in because we were hurrying to eat, check in and swim so weren't able to use the coupon.

The most outstanding feature of this property is their staff. They were courteous and considerate and even changed our room after we checked in because we did not like the originally assigned room mainly because of where it was situated. I think this is one of the cleanest hotel in its class that i have stayed at. The rooms are spacious clean. If i am ever back in Castlegar, i am definitely staying again.

The room was clean with plenty of amenities however, I was unable to open a window and the heat pump sounded like a washing machine on permanent spin mode all night. The beds were clean and comfortable and more than adequate breakfast. Also, after a long days drive I was looking forward to the hot tub but it was closed for maintenance / repair.

Lobby, hallways and breakfast room were definitely in need of a vacuum and cleaning. Breakfast area was unclean, garbage bins overflowing, dirty tables and spilled cereal, batter and coffee everywhere. It seems the hotel is running too thin on staff as the reception desk was trying to keep up with a very busy breakfast and folding laundry on the side. The hotel rooms were fine and the breakfast was plentiful…if you could find a spoon or willing to wait for someone to come and refill the coffee, yogurts or waffle batter!

Slide is super fun but you have to ignore the grit on the bottom of the pool and the general disrepair of the building. Loved the themed rooms and appreciated the price is reflective of an old building. Staff was lovely.
