Lovely hotel in front of the waves.

Hotel is new and in great condition. Spacious room, large bathroom, great balcony only a few meters from the crushing waves. Wonderful restaurant right on top of the waves. Two beautiful pools, one of them overlooking the sea and only a few meters away from it. Great beach right in front of the hotel, ultra long beach to walk either way. Only downside is the breakfast ; although it gives the basics that you expect, it does not offer any local delicacies.

What a beautiful hotel. I give the a Marika Hotel 5 stars. Cannot fault it at all. We had a room with a view of the pool, but could also see the sea. A great size balcony. The decor was modern and excellent quality and beds comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was immaculately clean, the cleaners were so friendly too. We had breakfast included and there was a great choice. From fruit and yoghurts, English breakfast, pastries, a range of nuts, juices and hot drinks. We had dinner at the restaurant a couple of days and was delicious. Outside the hotel you can get a bus for €1.70 to each end of the island. One end is the Old Town which has restaurants, shops and markets and chapels. A beautiful town.

This was a very nice hotel, description was accurate and the staff were very good. The organised taxis to and from the airport and the room was very clean. Only reason it wasn't a 5 is the rooms are a bit sort of drawer space for storage, so stuff stayed in the cases and the breakfast was fine, but not outstanding. Happy to thoroughly recommend the hotel

I stayed in one of the suites on the beach which went above and beyond my expectations. However, my last day was ruined as despite there being noone booked into my room on the day I left they would not let me keep my room on unless I paid a ridiculous sum of money, instead offering me a different room for the day, which defeated the object. Why clean two rooms when you could just clean one? I chose not to change rooms as it was pointless and they said they had a room which guests could use to have a shower, get changed and pack but this turned out to be a public toilet with 3 shower cubicles. To be honest I was disgusted and the only saving grace was that I was in there alone.

Absolutely recommendable

Overall very good note. Great location nearby tens of restaurants, shops, etc. Quiet and cosy inside. 2 very nice pools with special shallow pool for children. Pool bar and 2 restaurants. Clean and modern in general. Room #51 highly recommended - in my opinion the best room in whole property. Poorer score only for breakfast - limited choice and repeatable everyday. All the rest is very good.

Just very average not worth the price. Only amenities are pools, the “hot tubs” they advertise in certain room balconies are cold and you have to push the button every 20 seconds for the jets to stay on. The small beach is covered in lounge chairs and umbrellas which you have to pay for - €3.50 a chair per day. Nothing special

Flott hotell med god beliggenhet i Platanias. God frokost, ekstremt hyggelig personell og veldig god service. Rommet har god standard, og ble rengjort hver dag. Bassengene derimot er veldig små, det er trangt rundt solsengene og stranden var ikke særlig pen. Koster 10 euro å leie solseng på stranda til hotellet. Alt i alt et flott opphold på Kreta!

Ett mycket fint och bra hotell med bra placering i Platanias. Trevlig personal. Bra resturang på hotellet med helt ok frukost och maten på kvällen var fantastiskt god. Det som vi verkligen inte gillade var att du var tvungen att vara vid poolen innan kl 7 på morgonen för att ha en möjlighet att få en plats. Speciellt i den poolen som ligger närmast havet. Många la sina handdukar och kom inte förrän framåt eftermiddagen. Dåligt av hotellet att inte ta bort dessa handdukar så alla får en möjlighet till plats.

Flott hotell med rene omgivelser og hyggelig betjening. Svært god tilhørende restaurant, og flott bar. Wifi var nede under så og si hele turen vår, så det trekker dessverre litt ned. Verdt å merke at det minste rommet er ganske lite også - så praktisk å kun ha med seg én stor og én mindre koffert.

Dejligt hotel, bedre end billederne. Vi boede på Beachcomber nr.2. Fantastisk værelse med egen pool og fuld havudsigt. Her er stille, kun havets brusen. Sødt personale der gerne ringer efter taxa, eller giver gratis isspand med på værelset. Virkelig gode senge, puder og dyner. Ingen lyd fra aircondition. God morgenmad. Vi kommer igen.
