We had a balcony but it would have been nice to sit out but no chairs also no wedge to keep the door open. The privacy curtain was slightly stained and needed cleaning. It took us five days before we noticed there was no tv! All the staff were great and so helpful with booking restaurants and taxis. We enjoyed the reasonably priced western breakfast.

A gem of a Boutique Hotel in Kyoto.

Mogana is a peaceful haven. Highly recommend this hotel. Walking distance to cute shops and cafes, as well as a good shopping district. Amazing amenities. Service was impeccable. Hotel's signature drink is to die for (my friend wouldn't shut up about it!). Would stay again for sure.

We stayed at Mogana for 3 days and 3 nights. I was speechless when I saw our room. It was super clean and the breakfast in the room was so delicious. I loved the way associates called us first to tell us when our breakfast was about to be delivered. Sano is so friendly. He answered all of our questions and gave us what we needed. I would totally recommend Mogana to my friends and family. If I have the opportunity to visit Kyoto, Japan again, I will definitely stay at Mogana.

We stayed at Mogana from September 27th 2025- September 30th 2025. The hotel is beautiful, very modern as we had expected. Everything super clean and neat, in excellent condition. We received amazing customer service from Dodi & his team from the very beginning as it wax my 50th birthday treat from my husband. Dodi kindly arranged all my birthday surprises with my husband and everything was absolutely beautiful and perfect. The best hotel and service we’ve received in any hotel we’ve ever stayed at! We loved the room, super big and comfy, amenities were amazing. We had mixed feelings with the staff some were friendly and others not at all. We didn’t like the breakfast, the idea is beautiful but needs better execution, the food was cold and very limited.
