I had an excellent stay here in a private room. The hotel is clean, the staff is nice and welcoming. The location in the old town is great. I think some of the other reviews don’t realize this is a hostel not a hotel. By definition it’s meant to be no frills but for the things I really care about: everything listed above, I have no complaints.
There is an elevator but I encourage you to take the stairs at least once if you can.

Tight fit for average people, few inches to squeeze around the beds in places and couldn't physically fit in the bathroom without gymnastics (6ft and 36in waist). Could only just get through the doors by turning sideways!

Very nice hostel with good facilities and outdoor space. The shower did leak onto the floor and it was a bit silly to ask for €20 cash as a deposit to use the iron and hairdryer (I have never had to hand over a deposit for these) as I was on my way home the next day and didn’t want to get it out in cash. I managed to convince the receptionist to give both to me without a deposit in the end! Overall really comfortable stay.

The air conditioning unit was notably loud, the bathroom rather compact, and the pillows left much to be desired in terms of comfort. The hotel’s location and general positioning were also somewhat less than ideal. It would have been greatly appreciated had the room been equipped with basic amenities such as a refrigerator and a kettle; unfortunately, neither was provided. The absence of a fridge proved particularly inconvenient during the warmer months. Regrettably, we also encountered an issue with ants in the room. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, one individual responded in a manner that was distinctly unhelpful and discourteous.
