The hotel is old but well maintained - it has a kind of 'classic' feel to it. Lots of marble, formal-but-friendly staff, a fine reputation (Dostoevsky stayed here!). It's well located, being very close to the Kochbrunnen and a short walk from the main shopping street. But it's quiet. The rates are reasonable, and the rooms are fine. I got upgraded promptly and courteously when I noticed the room that I'd booked had two single beds rather than a double. I really appreciated this.

Close to the thermal baths, thermal springs, kurhaus (performance center), and the pedestrian area. Breakfast is a bit expensive, but there are excellent bakeries and cafes nearby.
