We booked Hatfield Lodge, it felt a little like Student Accommodation. Whilst clean and pleasant enough it seems to be an add-on to the Best western across the road. Check in/out was done across the road and any bar/restaurant was also at the other hotel. The rooms were a little basic, but that possibly reflected in the price paid, bed springs were broken unfortunately and the linen smelt a little like a greasy restaurant. Food across the way was reasonable, a little pricey, but large portions compensated for a basic offering. I think if we had stayed in the main hotel the rating would have been higher but it may have cost more (I’m not sure on this point). If staying again I would possible stay at the main part and either pre-pay for breakfast or organise elsewhere. Location was very good, the ‘add-on’ feel to a better hotel let me down.

I've stayed here a few times now over the last couple of years and , because of my disability, occasionally have to request certain things. This is why the staff , including the cleaners, get a special mention as they go above and beyond the call of duty and are multi talented especially the lovely Lisa who if isn't management or supervisory staff should be by now. Reasonable prices for food and drink - keep an eye out for the 2 for 1 cocktails - and being right on the seafront has amazing views from the terrace with plenty of seating. One little minus is The Hatfield Lodge could do with a little love on the outside due to the ripped canopy above the entrance.

A few minor gripes which would of made the stay more comfortable; No fan in the room with the temperature in the 30's, other guests did have one when I asked. No plug socket near the bed, the nearest usable one being on the far wall. No hot water in the bathroom sink, shower okay. No toilet brush?????

Room nice and big in The Lodge. Good choice of breakfast from the menu albeit mushrooms maybe should be included and not a paid for extra. Staff always on it and friendly and helpful. Meal menu has plenty of choice with large portions (try the chicken gyros) plenty of cocktails and and good choice of ales/beers. Plenty of seating inside and out I always stay here when visiting Lowestoft. One of the big draws is the amazing view from the bar/terrace areas. Excellent

Location is great and the staff were lovely but overall a bit disappointed. Glad we booked the room when it was on discount. We wouldn’t stay again. The beds were awful and uncomfortable, springs were noisy with every tiny movement. The curtains in the room were also poor and didn’t block out the light at all meaning we were awake by 5.30am with sunlight streaming in. There was a big crack in the side of the bath and a bit of mould on the bathroom ceiling. Appreciate it’s not advertised as a 5* hotel but the curtains and beds should have been better.

Our one night stay at the Hatfield Lodge was perfectly adequate, the room was clean and comfortable and the walk-in shower was good. Our only issue was, that the bed was a small double, but it was comfortable.

So, first of all the English breakfast. Have to pay extra for mushrooms (how rude and hence only 4 stars for it) but a good choice of continental food, cereal, yoghurt, pastries, jams. The room (I stayed in the lodge) very clean and spacious room however the radiator didn't seem to be working although towel rail in bathroom was but there was enough space for a wheelchair. Staff are diligent and friendly (both day and night) and I advised on the faulty socket in my room. I've stayed here before and I will again.
Honestly their cocktails are awesome. Look out for the 2 for 1 at certain periods.

Needed emergency accommodation for 24hrs for my family of 4... Room had everything you'd need for 1 day to a week... Quiet clean and had two double beds in the room with iron and ironing board hot drinks supplied and restaurant and bar in main building
