when we arrived the room was not the one we booked. We think the problem was a lack of information between us( that we made the reservation through hotels.com and the hotel itself). Anyway they changed us the room after the first night( we stayed 3 nights). It’s in a very good position easy to reach by subway or bus/tram. The hotel has some renewed rooms and some very old. Make sure to ask which kind of room you will book. The hall and breakfast areas are completely renovated . You have a good choice of food. As the hotel is in a very old building, the interior stairs are very antique. It’s fascinating, but if you like modern style it’s not the right choice for you. We liked this old style and also that it was not on a noisy area.

Good value for money. The location is great, next to Kleiner Tiergarten and close to an underground, tram and bus lines. The hotel is old and poorly maintained; the carpets are in terrible condition, and the shower screen was unhinged. Staff were borderline rude; I tried to check in and I stood in front of them for about 90 seconds and instead of saying 'hello, please give us a minute, we'll be with you shortly', they just ignored me.

Located only a few bus stops for Central Station. Plenty of restruarants, etc. around the area. Staff was friendly, and watched luggage after check-out (which not all hotels seem to be doing these days). Only drawback was that there was work being done on a daily basis (which needs to be done sometimes), but they would start early. Overall, great value !
