Experiencia especial y inolvidable

Un lugar muy Original con vistas espectaculares, especialmente por los noches (se puede ver muchas estrellas). Los dueños muy amables y los habitaciones cómodas. Por nosotros, fue un buen base para descubrir el Death Valley. Si buscas un hotel de lujo, esto no es.... es un B&B con mucho personalidad, donde se puede conocer muchas gente interesante y pasar los noches tomando un vino debajo de las estrellas con ellos y charlando . Para nosotros una experiencia inolvidable. Gracias a Jennifer y Nigel ( y por supuesto a Snoggles también 😉)

I love off-the-beaten path accommodations, especially ones with history, so the Shady Lady was at the top of my list for this trip to see the Death Valley superbloom! It was a little farther away from Beatty than I'd originally thought (my fault for not mapping it accurately), but its remote location made for great stargazing and put me near some far-flung areas that I'd wanted to explore anyway. I was so grateful that my host Nigel met me at my car upon my late arrival, since it was so dark out, and he made me feel right at home by showing me all around and making sure I could find my way to my room and to the common areas. I absolutely loved communal breakfast in the morning and hanging out with the peacocks outside! Very quiet at night, friendly atmosphere. Among the need-to-know items are that the rooms don't lock from the outside—so while you can lock them while you're in the room, you're leaving your stuff unsecured while you're away. It was totally fine in the end, but I'm a city girl so it made me a little nervous. There are also dogs and cats (a sweetie indoor one and at least one feral one outside) which was a MAJOR plus for me, but beware if you have allergies or don't like to mingle with other people's pets.

When you stay, you become family. Susan is the hostess with the mistress. She goes out of her way to make every guest feel welcome. I was fascinated by the peacocks and fully satisfied with the home-cooked breakfast. Worth a turn off the beaten path!!

Our hosts made us feel at home right away. They made us feel comfortable right away and gave great recommendations on where to eat. The place has a great view, it was so breathtaking! The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. I will definitely stay again at this place. Highly recommended.

Safety and Cleanliness Concerns, Did Not Stay. We arrived at The Shady Lady with plans to stay one night but ultimately did not stay due to safety and cleanliness concerns. At check-in, the proprietor appeared intoxicated and accidentally fell onto our backpack on the bed and into me, resulting in unwanted physical contact that the proprietor played off as a hug. While it may not have been intentional, it made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. We were not provided with keys or a door code, and when we requested them we were told it was unnecessary, which was a major safety concern. The room itself was not as advertised. It was significantly smaller than pictured and described with nowhere to place our luggage which was 1 bag each. The main light did not work and appeared to contain bugs, only one bedside lamp functioned, and the room smelled strongly of pets. The bathroom showed heavy calcium buildup, a visible hole in the wall, and towels that were discolored despite being described as white. The proprietor also seemed upset that we planned to leave early the next morning to catch the sunrise at a nearby national park, which added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. Because we did not feel safe, we left shortly after arrival and did not stay the night, instead driving back to Beatty to stay elsewhere. This may be a better fit for travelers with a high tolerance for rustic conditions and informal hosting, but for us it did not meet basic expectations for safety, clean

It had rained and the walk to the front was a mix of water, mud and steppingstones. After we waded through the water and mud to get to the front door there was a sign that says come in. We went inside and after 5 minutes of walking around and calling out "hello" we found no one was there. I called the number from Hotels.com and someone answered and said they would be right there. When she got there, she checked us in and took us to our room. The rooms are very small and with all the junk that they have in the room we only had room to put our 2 carryon bags on the floor resulting in just a narrow path to walk to the bed. Understand that this "Bed & Breakfast" in in a mobile home. The floors were dirty, and the place just generally did not smell clean. We had just traveled 12+ hours through a snowstorm and were verry tired. All we wanted to do was lay down and sleep. After 4 hours of our small dog jumping up and down after something we could not see we called it quits. We packed up and left to find someplace that was more to our liking in Beatty. There the dog was calm, and we got a good night's sleep so we could continue our journey.

Its a non normal type of place. Its got all the basics , but it is also very homey common person feel. Its not fancy and there are animals about the place including cats dogs peacocks goat etc. But they are well kept and its just part of the feel the place has.

Absolutely awesome experience! We were greeted warmly by the owner when we arrived. The B&B is neat and lovely. We watched the sunrise outside of the house and enjoyed a hearty breakfast. The stay was a sprinkle to our already amazing trip to the Death Valley!

It was one of the best stay I ever had! I was lucky to stay at Thanksgiving, so it was my first proper American dinner table settled by hosts. Felt so much cozy and warm being around other travelers sharing their stories and experiences while enjoying delicious home made food! For breakfast they also make home made food and serve it as Michelin restaurant! Area doesn’t have a lot of lights or they can switch them off, so you could enjoy stargazing while having your tea:) No doubts would recommend and if ever have occasion would stay again!
