8/10 Very good

The staff couldn't do anything more for us , very accommodating and friendly. Fantasy location in the center of a beautiful town.
Stephen, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Quiet, clean and comfortable.

8/10 Very good

Convenient for our needs. Town Centre location at a Bank Holiday weekend so busy, but staff helpful at all times.
Martin, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Very convenient with car park and the staff were wonderful. The room was good.
Susan, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Clean, with all basic amenities. Good parking which is very handy for looking around the town, and free for guests. Wi-fi worked ok. Shower a bit weak but adequate. Huge bed, which was nice but made it a squeeze to get into room. Staff friendly. Pub has pool, big screen TVs, cheap food - very busy in evening, which won’t suit everyone but not a problem for us.
Mrs Jacqueline, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very convenient location with friendly and helpful staff. My room was clean and comfortable, and my only suggestion is that it would benefit from air conditioning as it was exceptionally warm weather during my stay. Overall, good with easy and convenient car parking. I would be happy to stay again.
Mark, 7-night trip

Excellent location for visiting Sherborne

Welcoming and helpful staff comfortable bed. Room could do with a bit of maintenance. Wallpaper peeling in places etc. Excellent location though

2 night getaway in a beautiful place

Issues were discussed directly with management at time of departure thoight that the manager was very genuine however a week on amd still no email from her which is disappointing Not enough staff for an unexpected bisy period. Otherwise i feel it cpuld have been am enjoyable visit
Alison, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for. Any staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and room was warm. Unfortunately, had booked in for a meal on the first night which happened to be Valentine's night and trying to order via the app showed the majority of what we chose to eat being unavailable! Not great for a Friday night, especially Valentine's not even fish and chips. Ended up ordering at the bar where we could ask what food actually was available!
Janine, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

This is a good, old fashioned pub experience. The accomodation is clean and funktionalitet. The menu offers enough variety and well cooked. The staff friendly but professional. The atmosphere relaxing and welcoming even on busier nights. Whole experience felt safe. Important when travelling with an elderly person. Stairs were managable.
Emma, 7-night trip

6/10 Good

The location is very good being a short walk from the station and in the centre of Sherborne. However, the room was very plain and expensive at the price. Breakfast was not included.
Ian, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. Bedroom fine though a heating problem kept us chilly on the coldest 2 nights for a while!!! A big comfy bed but bathroom needs a bit of up-dating. Food good. Good selection of beers behind bar.
Andrea, 2-night trip

Good overall

It was good, just having into account that the breakfast is no longer included. For someone that doesn’t eat a lot it is very expensive
Rocío, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Convenient for short stay

Comfortable, convenient single room, clean spacious bathroom for 2-night weekend stay. Not well sound insulated so conversations in the next room and the corridor rather too audible. Music from the bar stopped around 11pm so no problem. Room service was a bit haphazard - cups not properly cleaned, bed not properly made, but the location in the centre of Sherborne suited me, and I would be prepared to stay there again.
Christopher, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

The state of the bathrooms are shocking, the mould, timescale and general condition of the bathrooms are unpleasant. The windows have to be open for airflow which then means the road noise would require the use of earplugs. The price of the room does not reflect value for money at all!!
Brett, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The heating did not work so both the bar area and the rooms / corridors were freezing. The bathroom looked like a cheap renovated London flat, cheap plastic wall coverings, black mould, toilet did not flush properly, sink was blocked. Paper thin adjoining walls/rooms. Staff were fine ,but the place was terrible.
David, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

My room had not been cleaned and serviced at all when I was given the key. After apologies I was "upgraded" to their "best" room. On entering that room, yes the bed had been made and the bedroom serviced, but the bathroom had the dirty soaking wet towels from the previous guests piled on the floor, and no new towels in sight. More apologies and towels removed and replaced. Whilst the bedroom was relatively clean, the bathroom was a horror! There was mould all over the ceiling at shower end of the room and it had an overall feeling of tired and dingy. We didn't eat in the Inn because of concerns over hygiene standards (bad bedroom/bathroom experience) but did have a pint of ale at the bar. Not impressed with that either. Finally to top it off, we had a taxi arranged to collect our luggage after we had left (cycling) but the hotel staff forgot to give the taxi driver one of our bags, which resulted in us having to make a 2 hour round trip to pick it up the next day. We will NOT be visiting the Half Moon again!

Rooms are a bit warn, and was quite cold at night.
Nat, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Room was not ready at16.00 work to door being done, only a short wait. Steak meal was poor, one third of meat was inedible.
Albert, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Good for a quick one night stay.

The location if staying in Sherborne couldn't be much better. The rooms are pretty basic but they are clean and functional so if your expectations are high in this respect then maybe look elsewhere. Staff all seemed pretty friendly & the bar & drinks were okay - didn't eat there so can't comment.
Mark, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Such a new location and friendly hotel - definitely would stay again
Alan, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Good location in centre of Sherborne. Very reasonably priced room and the staff are friendly and helpful. The pub has a car park and is also just 5/10 minutes walk from station. The delightful Sherborne abbey is just a very short walk from the inn and there are numerous restaurants nearby. The room was very comfortable although there was occasional noise from the bar downstairs or outside tables. The Abbey is close by and the clock chimes might bother some. The food onsite is good whether you require breakfast or a meal. The room was well equipped and it suited me as a solo traveller very well.
