I was traveling solo through Matsushima Bay and I found this amazing Ryokan through an AI/Google search. I was highly impressed with service provided by the staff! I especially liked their use of some cool technology I had not seen before (it was a set up of two microphones, one facing the guest and one facing the staff, that automatically translated speech to text for display on a digital board between us as we spoke to each other). This was extremely helpful during my check in/out process...

The meal, the beautiful tableware, and the warm hospitality reminded me of the charm of Japanese culture.
The bath was lovely, and my daughter said she would love to visit other Hoshino Resorts too.✨

Incredible experience at Suzukiya Ryokan! Staff is incredible! They speak some English and you can communicate perfectly fine with all of them. They are so incredibly kind and welcoming! They are separated by gender, you wash up before entering a really hot bath and relax like you haven't relaxed in a long time! Then they bring...

The hotel staff was wonderful to me and my friend though they could not speak much English they tried their best to show us around the hotel and personally showed us to our room. During dinner service, the waiter that was serving us also tried his best to tell us about the food we were eating and when he could not translate some of the dishes he was willing to use his phone to translate what he was saying in English. They even helped us pick out drinks for us to try and the frozen beer was the...
