"Lovely boutique hotel in a gorgeous, unique setting on the Pacific Ocean. Quiet, picturesque and intimate. Food and service was very good. The physical structures and fixtures are now beyond their best before date. A minor update of the buildings, etc. would instantly make it a five star experience."

"We wanted a few days of seclusion and Hotel El Risco was perfect for this, It is off the beaten path but in another year or so there will be more connection to this little corner of Oaxaca as the government has ramped up construction on the roads. We came here in off season and were the only guests. The staff primarily speak Spanish but dictionaries and translation apps gave us a great opportunity to communicate and get to know them. Breakfast is based on what's available and we usually had...
