It's feeding time at the zoo! If you want to be reminded of some of the great animals our world is home to, you might want to pay a trip to Birds Park, located 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from central Gonnoruwa. If you'd also like to explore some of the parks in Gonnoruwa, head to Ridiyagama Safari Park and Bundala National Park.

A delightful bit of "glamping" right next to the treasure of Yala Park. The "rooms" are comfortable and even air conditioned. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast served on a raised tower overlooking the park.

Beautiful setting and location. This place is fantastic with a relaxing atmosphere, great service but not overdone, with a sense that you are more of a guest at a home stay. The food is really great and they will help you and your partner celebrate a birthday or other event, but not a place to go and party down if that’s what you want.

This family owned hotel is stunningly beautiful. So many decorative details. The pool and hot tub so inviting. Backyard faces river with monkeys close by.

Outstanding small villa recently renovated and styled in a very tasteful and relaxing design. We loved it. Communication via WhatsApp with the owner’s daughter was prompt, efficient and with excellent English. She organised our safari, which went smoothly (and the driver was excellent).
Upon arrival, we were met by the very charming Anusha who was a lively presence during our short, one-night stay. She and her husband prepared a really delicious dinner, which we had after a quick dip in the...

This stay truly exceeded my expectations! From the start, the team was incredibly helpful in arranging transportation from Colombo to the camp. Our driver even made a stop along the way for some delicious local coconut roti and curry, which was such a nice touch! The food throughout our stay was fantastic and beautifully prepared. And as someone who does NOT camp, I can honestly say these tents were perfect—luxurious, comfortable, and such a fun, unique experience. The game drives were another...

Very professional staff, incredible location near the entrance to Yala National Park. The staffs English could be improved upon but the staff were very attentive, warm and helpful.
The room we had was incredible. Very large with all the amenties you could expect. The small private pool was nice but cold and not really used.
The food at the restaurant was well prepared and reasonably priced. They have both an international food and local Sri Lankan menu to choose from.
We look forward to...

We stayed here for a few days to go to Yala National Park and Hotel Elephant Eye was a great location for taking a SAFARI Tour. The owner is very friendly and the staff are very hardworking. The property is very well maintained. Room was clean and comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant. Easy walk or Tuk tuk to town for restaurants and grocery stores.
