Hotel Elizabeth
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel with a great historical significance located underneath the castle of Trencin. Beautiful area, great breakfast. Absolutely ideal for travelers."
"Although the receptionist didn’t speak any English, between google translate and point and smiling, we were checked in early and shown around the hotel. The breakfast was good.
Our room had an awkward shower/tub set up with no shower curtain, but we made the best of it. I think this is a very popular hotel as the weather warms up because there’s a popular road cycling trail and Straznice is central on that map. We were only here two nights, but there’s a couple real good bakeries across the street and a great restaurant/pub close by also. Beautiful town but be careful walking along the Main Street , it’s very busy and tons of lorries going through town"
"It's a lovely family run hotel. The team are all lovely and extremely helpful.
The hotel itself is modern enough and well presented. I found the bed extremely comfortable. The bar is a nice environment to relax in.
The restaurant wasn't serving dinner but they arranged for a delivery of food and set up a table for me to eat it in the restaurant. The food they recommended was delicious and a good price.
There is plentiful free parking, which includes a Tesla charging point. There is step free access via a secure back door (must use key card) to get your bags from the car to your floor.
The only downside is proximity to the train station. I was woken up at 05:50 one morning by a train sounding the horn. Otherwise, I highly recommend the hotel.
I was staying her for work in Sered for 4 nights and it provided everything I needed"
"Staff were very kind and courteous. The spa treatments were great, we got them at the Irma spa and they were lovely. We did the mirror pool and mud pool + short massage, which made the trip worth it. The area itself is really beautiful, green and nice to walk around / have a drink. Also there are restaurants nearby in town which are really nice. Overall a nice trip but the other reviews are right that the property itself is dated. First impression on arrival wasn’t great but stay was nice enough."
"Can you call a building with 6 rooms positioned immediately beside a 3-storey prison hospital (encased in razor wire) a villa? A killa villa, maybe. You’ll have time to admire your next-door inmate neighbors as they catcall you from the open windows next door. Why will you have time? Because it could take an hour standing outside trying to navigate the self-serve check-in process as they try to collect parking fees and wait for your credit card to clear. Everything is self-serve with an unresponsive person who is on a mobile phone somewhere. We had to rattle cages at Expedia in order to check in. You want the wifi password? Why it’s printed in mice type somewhere in the room. Happy treasure hunting. The room itself is fine. Clean enough. Decent location to the town if you want to discount the prison vibes. I rarely write negative reviews, but I sure wished that I had read this review before booking. Buyer beware. "
