Asakuchi District Hotels

Fukuyama city is a hidden jewel. Most of the bullet trains stop here and the access to major places, including Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Yokohama, Tokyo, and Fukuoka is a direct line. If you want to visit Tomonoura where major movies scenes were taken, including Studio Ghibli and The Wolverine, I highly recommend Fukuyama.

While I like this hotel for the cheap price and its location, I noticed the receptionist when I checked in encouraged me to use the machine in front of their desk. What an irony! They are training customers to use systems to replace themselves. The nice thing about this hotel is the flexibility if I want to extend my stay for a couple of hours. You can just pay $10 for every hour you want to extend. The facility is fairly new and it is only 100 meters from the bullet train station.

The room was clean and organized. Near to the place I wanted to go. I asked question always got response quick. It was a pleasant stay. I would like to come back 100 %!!

A lovely hotel with beautiful rooms, details and facilities. The staff were helpful and professional. The breakfast was great with incredible personnel! We only stayed one night but wished we could’ve stayed longer!

Dormy Inn is the hidden gem for foreigners looking for affordable hotel stays with luxury amenities. They have onsens, delicious local juice, coffee, ice cream, and noodle soups (time dependent) all included for guests. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful.

We loved our stay in Kurashiki at Yoruya. It’s a small, intimate hotel located on the edge of the Bikan Historical Quarter, within quick walking distance yet slightly removed and quiet (at least when we were there). The service level and attention to detail were top notch. All the staff we encountered were courteous and helpful and made us immediately feel at home. I really enjoyed this hotel. It is older and has tatami rooms - they were a great price and had the most amazing view. i strongly recommend using this hotel and hope you can enjoy looking at the beautiful scenery.
