"Possibly the best hotel stay I've ever had. The room was comfortable, with wonderful views - from our balcony we could see elephants. It's in the perfect location, right at the entrance to the national park (hence the view!). The food was delicious. What really sets the place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful, with special thanks to Sampath for taking us to the water so we could see the wildlife, and for going above and beyond with food and drink. We were even offered free use of the showers, tea and snacks after returning from our safari to collect luggage, having already checked out. I can't speak highly enough of everyone there and would recommend the hotel to anyone planning a trip to the national park"
Hotel Oviya

"A wonderful room with double beds, double AC and double fans. Tiles on floor so no warm when you left your room and came back. A balcony with view on the sunrise. Room is clean and well prepared on time. In the room there are wardrobe, desk and a small table with 4 chairs. Staff is very nice and polite. They could speak tamil, sinhalese and english and are very helpful. Thanks a lot for the warm welcome. I ordered tea every day and dishes for dinner are tasty and room service is very pleasant. 2 and half hours from Jaffna and 2 hours from Sigirya by car. The hotel is in the center of Vavuniya, well placed, with in 5 minutes walk, you will find shops, jewelry stores, veg restaurants and small markets. A total immersion in day to day life. I enjoyed my 3 days journey. If you are looking a safe place to take rest and planning your travel it is the best choice !"

"We had an amazing stay here, it really does add to the whole safari experience as you feel completely out in the middle of the jungle. One night at dinner we even heard the warning call of deer nearby that the staff told us meant a leopard was near too, truly a once in a lifetime dining experience. With this being more of a glamping like experience you do need to be prepared to have some bugs in the room. The bathrooms are also a little bit rough and ready with some signs of wear but again being in the middle of nature this is to be expected and it still does feel like a luxury glamping experience. The staff and food were brilliant and the dinner setting is one I won’t forget! The location is very private and it really sets up your safari from minute one. Each lodge is incredibly private and not overlooked at all, this makes for a very peaceful escape. It is about a five minute drive from the gates to Wilpattu national park which saves you some extra time in bed for the early morning safari start which is an added bonus."

"The room was good but expect some local nature ie frogs in the bathroom. The food was excellent & overall we really enjoyed our stay"
Kotiya Eco Villas
10/10 Excellent
"I just stayed one night but was super well and kindly looked after by Christopher and the team. The area is a little more remote than I realised so worth planning ahead for that, but it's really peaceful and full of wildlife – 100% worth venturing out for! The villas are really nicely done up, modern and super comfortable. Definitely recommend as an excellent nature base."
