Tatsuno is a charming, former samurai town that is easily explored on foot. We were in the area to visit the Hijemi Castle, and were very happy to be in Tatsuno, away from the bustle of tourists. The machiya is large, beautiful, elegant, and very comfortable...we could spread out and relax. We loved our short stay in the refurbished traditional home. Location is perfect, and a great price. Luggage assistance at check in and check out is a big help for travelers. The evening reception is an added bonus as is having Totoro across the street.

The laundry was nice and cheap! The staff was amazing! The room was a good size. They also have robes, and skin care samples. Would recommend

The hotel is about 10-15min walk from Himeji Station, and about a 20min walk to Himeji Castle. It was worth the price for this hotel, the room, although small, was well equipped, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the free breakfast is a nice addition. I would recommend this hotel.

Toyoko Inn is always a great stay!
