If you travel to Shirakawa-go and want to experience a truly wonderful Japanese experience, this hotel is for you. The rooms are excellent and super clean. We experienced the private baths from the hot springs and was also great! The dinner was amazing and the town magical. We loved it!

Next to the station, within waking distance from most of the interesting sites. Good breakfast. The room size is reasonable. Washer/dryer machine in the room is very convenient. Great view from the top level terrace.

In the morning, the smell of the forest was amazing.

Great hotel close/walkable from the train station. You can pay for a private Onsen which my husband did and relaxed. They have a nice bar and breakfast buffet. Good area again to walk to open market and shrine near by. Would stay again and recommend.

This was one of the most incredible experiences we had in Japan. The staff and service level are extraordinary. The 8 or 10 course meals at dinner and breakfast were an unbelievable experience. We traveled with young kids with varying degrees of adventurous eating and the staff was able to prepare dishes that were more western (mini sausages, fries, sunny side eggs). Great hotel, really friendly staff, and a good breakfast and public bath (lovely little outdoor pool), a bit of a distance from town but they run a shuttle to and from the station which only takes 15 minutes.

An absolutely magical experience, Yatusankan blew me away with the level of service and the beauty of the property. It was like staying in a museum--my wide and i remarked several times how much it felt like being inside the movie Spirited Away. Staying here was a special highlight of our trip and I hope to come back

We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Takayama! Everything exceeded our expectations, from the excellent service to the cleanliness of the rooms and the incredible amenities. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and we really appreciated all the thoughtful touches, including toothbrushes, slippers, pajamas, and everything else we needed to feel at home.
