"The Freehand is my go to place every time I'm in Chicago. It is a bohemian treasure and attracts interesting tourists, many from Europe. Good location, just by Eataly in the River North area, and I always have no trouble finding nearby parking on SpotHero. I've stayed here a few times now, and it feels like my 2nd home in Chicago. It has some hostel like qualities, but I've stayed in other hostels and this one is an upgrade. Reminds me of The Jane in New York. We especially love renting a full...

"Great facility located in the middle of everything! Sites,shopping, and local transportation all close by. Hotel’s old and could use a touch up here or there. Challenging to charge electronics in your room. That needs a significant upgrade. Breakfast is OK and much appreciated given food costs in Chicago."
