The NEST at Nishiki is both a new and an exceptional property. The rooms were spotless and functional, the staff was extremely attentive, and the location was just perfect--steps from the Nishiki Market and the Gion district. Yet the single most outstanding feature of the NEST at Nishiki is its manager, Ms. Chie Nakamura. She is professional, knowledgeable, a top-notch hotelier, and a wonderful person. I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!
Clean room and clean building. If you want to use the private Onsen, the best time is right after check-in, after dinner, and in the early morning.
One thing to note is that the dinner meal and breakfast buffet are an additional fee.
Overall, great stay, we would book again in the future for a relaxing night.
This hotel was the best out of the hotels we stayed at on our two week trip (3 hotels total). If you’re looking for a great hotel in Kyoto it’s this hotel. Room was clean and beautiful. Bed was excellent (all other beds we slept on were hard and bad). Bathroom was great! Close to the subway and bus stop (use the bus - super easy, fast and clean). Next door to convenience store (very helpful). Blocks from Kyoto station (also very helpful). One block from a beautiful shrine. Coin-op laundromat...
Great hotel near 7/11. Best little vegan restaurant called The Kind for breakfast a few doors down. Room was very spacious for Japan. Nice tub. Complimentary laundry facility was a huge plus.
Cetral location. Great spa n breakfast. Stunning brfst view of Temple. 3 min to nearby Garden. Walking distance from Kyoto Station. Nearby Hiro yakiniku is unforgettable.
This hotel was an excellent value. The rooms were standard Japanese size, but sufficient for two people. The lobby had an excellent common area that included free tea, coffee, filtered water, and Sake tasting. The hotel had aroma therapy in the main lobby, so be advised if you are extremely sensitive to smells, even really good ones. Amazing value, felt very luxurious and everything was super clean and thoughtful to the smallest details. The onsen was clean, they provided a lovely welcome drink, free snacks, and a great gym. Decent location. Thanks for the stay and will be back!

I loved my stay at the Royal Park hotel. The location was perfect, walkable to many stores restaurants and train stations. The room was bigger than other ones I’ve stayed in so that was a plus. Can’t recommend it enough :)
We absolutely loved our stay here! Very clean! Very kind staff! Delicious breakfast! It is centrally located and therefore easy to get just about anywhere in Kyoto. Great stay.
