I've been going to Porec for 5 years now, primarily in the summer months. The Parentium is far and away the nicest resort in the area and usually the most expensive. It is the only property I know of in the area with a beach that can be described as sandy. The staff has always been a little chilly. Being massively concerned with the number of people in your room. It's not obvious from the pics but the location is not on the beach but is a very easy walk to the beach and town (like five minutes). I was there to see how the lesser towns in Istria celebrate Advent which is a big deal in this region. Small town, big party!
Nice, small hotel away from the action. About 15 minute walk to heart of the old city (which we did many times), and 5 min to many really good restaurants; close to park and beaches. Really comfortable, great breakfast and nice helpful staff. Rick Steves recommends!

We loved our stay at Hotel Marea. The room was cute and comfortable. The breakfast was a small buffet, but very well done. We appreciated the parking. The walk to town was about 25 minutes. The pool was such a delight after a day of site seeing in the heat. The staff was very kind. They even surprised me by setting up a very special table for me at breakfast to celebrate my birthday. Borgo B&B is located at the top of Motovun, making it the perfect location if you want to experience Motovun both during the day and at night. The service is fantastic, as is the breakfast, which is served on the terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and the valley below Motovun. All in all, a perfect location if you are traveling through Istria.
There is no reception, so you have to arrange check in ahead of time. We failed to do this, but Rosa was very helpful.
The unit was just right for our stay. Equipped kitchen, dining area, bedroom. Great AC, grocery store very close by, lots of dining options and tour operators in the area.
The location is perfect, the room was very clean and well maintained, very easy to access whatever we wanted. Parking of my car in the office outside the pedestrian area was very easy and convenient...Mattress could be a little better, but that is the only point I would like to see improved.
