"In a days between picking up my fiance and going to Play del Carmen I had to kill a couple of days and this is my usual low-cost no frills. A very very basic stay in Tijuana which worked out fantastic. Watch plenty of Netflix. The Wi-Fi is good. They let you come and go as wish, but just know that you know you're not staying at the Ritz car accident and for heaven's sake please change those smoke detector batteries"

Hotel Grand One Plaza

8/10 Good

"Pros: The room was great for the price. We got a room with no window which kinda bothered me at first, but ended up liking because it was quiet. The bed and pillows were as comfortable as the ones at high end Disney resorts!! The room was very spacious, had a luggage rack, and plenty of storage. Having the sink outside the bathroom is nice for two people to get ready in the morning. It is located right in the middle of everything. It is across the street from Ceaser’s restaurant, Black Box Venue, and many good cafes. The employees were all friendly and helpful. Con’s: The room appeared to have been cleaned, but had quite a few hairs on the floor. The bathroom is in need of towel hooks and it’d be nice to be given two rolls of toilet paper instead of just one. I’d also be nice to be provided a bottle of water. The AC remote was not working perfectly, but I managed to get it to work. The door was tricky to shut when leaving the room, but figured it out as well. I typically stay in Zona Rio, but I recommend this hotel if you are going to a concert or event near Revolucion."

"The Lafayette’s striking design is what drew me in, and it didn't disappoint. It’s in a fantastic location—minutes from the border crossing and surrounded by great restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and hospitable throughout my stay. While the bathroom is on the smaller side, it’s functional and fine for a short stay. My only critique is that deep cleaning could be improved, as some corners were a bit dusty. Overall, a great stay with plenty of character!"
