Great stay near city center

Rob cordially welcomed us to B&B 5 Balconies even though we arrived late at night. We stayed in a very nice room, but shared two bathrooms with the other three rooms, which was not a problem because they were well equipped and tidy. The B&B provides an excellent breakfast with local bread and fresh fruit and the owners make sure to provide a pastry to your preferences. They also gave us some very nice recommendations for food and drinks around Catania. We can look back on an excellent four night stay and definitely recommend this bed and breakfast, which we found offers a fantastic quality for the price.

Best B&B Experience in Sicily!

Truly great! Best B&B during our two week long journey through Sicily. The host is welcoming, hospitable and warm, the place is beautifully decorated and uniquely furnished, location is convenient and the breakfast dots the i. Also, we got all this for an affordable price. Rather than just saying «10/10, would recommend», we have also booked it again!

Cristina is a super friendly and open person. We spend 1 night only but we recommend to stay longer. Catania has a lot to offer during the day and at night. Delicious breakfast and familly atmospher being decided to rate Cristinas 5 Balcony by 5 stars. Best regards Jakub and Olga.

Rob was a fantastic host, great communication before arrival, friendly, greeted with cafe latte, gave map of area and recs for places to visit nearby, accommodates for gf dietary needs and early breakfast before departure, arranged for airport car service, area is gritty but safe and a few mins walk from bus and to central sites. Highly recommend!

Absolutely incredible stay! Everything about Cinco Balconi was amazing. The apartment was spotless, beautifully maintained, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. He went above and beyond to help us—even with things that had nothing to do with the accommodation. His kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made our trip unforgettable. The location was ideal, close to all important sites in Catania. Also very convenient to book tours to Etna, Taormina, Syracuse, etc and close to the airport, bus and train stations. What stood out mostly about our stay was the hospitality and kindness of the host Rob as well as a great personalized breakfast. Rob was always available and seemed genuinely happy to answer our questions on places to visit. When we arrived , he sat down with us and gave us a map of Catania with recommendations on where to eat and what to visit. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our original 3 night stay to 4 and even returned an extra 3 nights at the end of our tour in Sicile. We highly recommend 5 Balcony.

Only good things to say about Cristina and Rob and their wonderful, welcoming B&B in Catania. Lovely people, right in the heart of town, and so helpful. Very cute accommodation and lovely breakfast - I'd never tried pistachio croissants and the ones Cristina buys were a dream!

B&B which feels like a home

Upon arrival, the host sits down with you to design your breakfast and give you valuable advice around town. Very knowledgeable, follow the restaurant recommendations! Breakfast was a real treat, with fresh bread from the bakery. The shared-bathroom situation (two are available, both with showers) was not a problem at all. Our room faced the busy street, with some car noise even at night. Surprisingly, we were not bothered by it. Heavy shutters at the balcony helped and also made the room completely dark. We had a great stay all around!

Rob was such a great host. He really cares for his guests. With such knowledge and information about the area. He helped us locate some really great places to go see and to go for food and drinks. It was nice sharing the place with Rob as well as the other guests where we were able share with each other over a beautiful and tasty spread at breakfast. If we ever return to Catania, 5 Balconi will be our first choice. The rooms are beautiful and the common room is dressed with style. Such a warm and welcoming place to stay. Highly recommended. The entrance to the property is pretty off putting. Having 4 keys to get from the gate to my room a bit intimidating. No lights in the stairwell that I could find. But the host, a British expat, was helpful and delightful as was the quirky and fun interior of his apartment. He arranged for a car to the airport for a predawn pickup. My hosts Rob & Cristina are incredible! Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the local areas. Great advice & clear instructions on what to see, where to eat & how to go. And they will go out of their ways to try to provide assistance as far as possible. I had an ankle sprain & stayed indoors the whole day on my last day in Catania. Rob bought me pizza for dinner & Cristina helped me get a taxi to the airport the next day. I cannot thank them enough. Grazie mille! Location wise, 5 Balconi is just 5-10 mins away from the fish market, Piazza del Duomo, and the Alibus stop (for the Airport). All the major sights are also within walking distance. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Excellent! Note that there are two bathrooms to be shared by guests & there is some street noise. Ear plugs are provided on-site. All in all, HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended!
