Too Close to the Highway

It is a run-of-the-mill Best Western. Modern and clean interior, decent rooms, and simple breakfast. One major problem is that it is next to Highway 417. For rooms facing the highway, the road noise comes through the window panes non-stop throughout the night. There is a permanent white-noise machine installed in the room, which tells you something about the problem. The white-noise machine helps a little, but you have to turn its volume pretty high to cover the road noise, which itself makes a bad night of sleep.
