Wonderful Hotel Zi Carmela.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Zi Carmela. The staff was wonderful and accommodating (especially Loretta). The hotel is centrally located in Forio. Dina loved her spa treatments. We highly recommend staying at Hotel Zi Carmela when visiting Forio.

What we valued: 1. helpful staff - we thought the family room would have a sofabed but instead it had a fold up bunkbed which really didn’t suit the ages of our children. The staff put an extra bed in the room so that we ended up with a double and two singles. It really saved the stay! 2. The super handy location! Walkable to everything you need, including great restaurants and the beach. 3. The pools. Lots of seating and in a lovely courtyard type garden. The negatives: 1. this hotel is old. So so old. Interior is super dated, beds are hard and uncomfortable, pillows are just as bad. The pull up bed was next level creaky and so short. We ended up putting the mattress on the floor so feet could hang over the mattress and so that the whole room wouldn’t wake up every time someone turned over. 2. The family room we had did not have a balcony and it made for quite a cramped stay. Hard to get beach things dry etc. 3. The thermal pools were lukewarm and smelled chlorinated. Not somewhere you’d want to spend too long. 4. Bathroom was also dated and water went everywhere when you showered. The temperature of the water was ever changing so not the most comfortable. 5. Breakfast was actually good for Italian standards! (Lots of sweets, but also a few healthy and savoury options) but coffee was awful, vending machine style.

Very convenient location, near Forio port. Quite noisy, but the windows block most of the noise. The room was super dated with furniture from the ‘70’s. Same with the bar area. The garden is nice with two thermal water pools, plus there’s a warm indoor pool. They have mud treatments and many other treatments in the spa area. Breakfast is crowded and coffee from a machine is not acceptable, especially in the Campania region, which supposedly boasts the best espresso in Italy. Even the coffee from their bar is very mediocre. The staff is welcoming and kind and they do the best they can. With such a prime location, this hotel has great potential and the owners should really improve the room decor and the breakfast/coffee.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber mit viel Retro-Charme. Sauber und sehr nettes Personal, man fühlt sich wohl. Den Liegestuhl-Bereich mit kleinem Pool inkl Thermalwasser ist nice to have! Frühstück ok, Abzüge gibt es für Dosenfrüchte, wenn doch Früchtesaison wär (zB Mispeln...). Summa summarum: Ich käm sofort wieder, gute Lage, Preis-/Leistung fair und autentisches Hotel!

Soggiorno piacevole e riposante. Ottima accoglienza, camera luminosa e pulita, bagno confortevole con tutti i comfort. Colazione abbondante e varia sia dolce che salata. Solarium attrezzato con piscine all'aperto, piscine termali al coperto con idromassaggio in ambiente igienizzato. Staff in reception attento e disponibile. Staff in sala colazione perfetto e professionale. P.S. Le mie richieste di check in anticipato e checkout ritardato sono state accolte. Grazie per il piacevole soggiorno.
