Lovely Sorrento lemon tiled apartment with balcony
We absolutely loved this apartment. It was far nicer than staying in a characterless hotel.
It was very homely and obviously also used by the owner, due to the facilities at hand.
It is right in the centre of Sorrento accessed from a quiet courtyard.
It’s on the 3rd floor ( above Ground Floor ) and accessed by walking up 64 steps with no lift. So not for people with mobility issues.
We’re stayed as a couple in our late 50’s and had no problems at all with the stairs.
There is a lemon theme to the apartment as it is completely crammed with local tiles and ceramics all featuring lemons.
The expansive outside balcony was bizarrely extremely quiet, considering how centrally located it is. This would be a massive asset in the hotter months.
We used this as our base to visit Pompeii via train and Naples, Capri, Positano and Amalfi by ferry. The ferry is more expensive than the train or bus, but quicker and much more civilised.
We stayed in mid April which was ideal, as the weather was nice and everything was open, but nowhere was too crowded.
I don’t normally recommend restaurants, but was indoors at Ristobiblioteramuseo L'Osteria del Buonconvento was really special.
