We recently stayed and EKHO Ella for 2 nights. The main positive is the location, which is incredible - the views from the terrace are beautiful and it is perfectly located if you want to be in the centre of Ella, a one minute walk down to the main area. The staff are also so lovely, couldn't have been more helpful and generous. The room and railway theme is cute and it was perfectly clean and breakfast was also a good range. However, there were a couple of irritations. Firstly, the swing style bathroom doors are awkward to use and slam closed very loudly if you don't catch them quickly every time, which is not ideal at night. The light switches in the room were bewildering - not a single one was an obvious location to the light it controls. Finally, we were in a room that was right by the terrace where there is music / performance every night. As the windows are thin, this was so loud it was like it was in the room itself. It stops at 10pm so not a huge issue, but the volume made it overwhelming if you are looking for peace. Ella is obviously an area for nightlife, so it won't affect those who are visiting with that in mind, however if you want an early night, I wouldn't choose there.
