We stay here two or three times a year. The staff are nice and the rooms super clean and comfortable. This is a well run hotel. And good value.

Great location for exploring the moors.

Friendly welcome and would happily stay longer. Lovely meal in pub on premises. Very dog friendly and mine loved his nibbles and toy in the room, when we arrived… lovely touch. Comfortable bed and nice room. Great location for exploring Dartmoor. Will return soon, I hope.

Excellent stay

We stayed for one night, travelling back from Cornwall (and wanting to make a head start on traffic). Everything was very positive (food, bed, shower, location) and staff were incredibly helpful with anything we needed. Would highly recommend.

This was a stay en route to Cornwall. We’ve stayed a few times before. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and breakfast though I feel a few cut-backs have been applied which aren’t what we expected of this quality of hotel. A couple of other issues were instantly addressed.

Relaxing Stay

The garden was spectacular. Really relaxing to walk around. The staff were attentive and helpful. The room was clean and the TV had Youtube and Amazon Prime which was great. The room tea and coffee selection is good and parking is not a problem. Will be back if l drive through the area.

10/10 Exceptional

Very relaxed hotel, beautiful large rooms and extensive grounds to walk around. Close to Bovey Tracy and Haytor Rock. The staff were really helpful and professional. The restaurant was excellent and provided a superb breakfast and dinner. We did eat in the pub which is part of the hotel (Tinpickle and Rhum) but the food was cold and service was dreadful, stick to the hotel restaurant in the conservatory! Otherwise a beautiful hotel to stay in in Dartmoor.

Mostly enjoyable

We did enjoy our stay The Moorland Hotel Haytor, it was spotlessly clean, very compfortable seating both inside and out, the food we had was all freshly cooked and delicious with a good choice. All of the staff were extreemly helpful, friendly and polite and were excellent at their job even when it was very busy. The Hotel is set in beautiful gardens where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll and of course, Dartmoor itself. Our one and only issue was our room. Again,it was spotlessly clean and modern we found the bed to be too firm but that is only our preferance however, our little gripe, was that we were continually awakened by noise from the room above us and next door, there is very little insulation. The noise was not people partying, just general,i.e. people talking, walking about, televisions, closing drawers and wardrobes etc. If,like us,you are a light sleeper it can get a tadge annoying, particularly after midnight/early hours however, if you're lucky enough to be able to sleep through an army marching up the corridor etc. then this Hotel is perfect.
