This guest house is small and in a quiet residential area.
Rooms are self-contained apartments including a comfortable bed and bath with shower which had hot water and good pressure. The shower head is rather small however and the bath too small to lay out in, although it is deeper than most, so you can still cover your knees.
The kitchenette was handy, including a hob, microwave and fridge freezer. It was a bit irritating that you have to request utensals/plates etc from reception, we felt these should just be left in the room. Having a washer machine in the room was also helpful, allowing a mid-holiday refresh of the wardrobe (well suit case), with powder available from reception for JPY100 per wash.
A feature we did really like was the providing of a mobile phone in the room with international calls and local 4G data access, at know extra charge. This made getting out and about in Kyoto much easier, as we were only using wifi on our personal phones. Wifi at the hotel is provided in all rooms, but we did find it a bit slow.
Nearby there are various restaurants and convenience stores. 5mins walk away is Tofakuji station, with regular JR local trains taking just 6mins to reach the main Kyoto station and 45mins if you want to head over to Nara.
