The hotel rooms were really clean and warm. We had to wait for the barman to finish his cigarette before we were able to order a drink at the bar, the waitress at breakfast was tidying away the breakfast buffet items around us as we were eating so it made us feel a little rushed and the breakfast table was sticky with crumbs from a previous sitting. The receptionist tried to charge for a drink on checking out which was not ours and didn't even apologise. The room was prepaid for over the web on a work credit card. The receipts we collected upon check out, had card details on that were not relevant to the company credit card and both card numbers on the two room receipts were different.
I could not fault the cleanliness at all and it certainly had character but in my opinion and having worked in hospitality for many years myself, the staff need to training.

Great hotel with pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and a very friendly staff
The dinner food at the hotel's restaurant is excellent and inexpensive
The only drawback: there is no air conditioning in the rooms

This hotel is ideally situated in the middle of Ruddington. Food wasn't available on the first evening, but plenty of pubs serving food and restaurants, all within a very short walking distance. The staff that we did see were all very friendly and polite. Our room was cosy and well appointed. Breakfast was a little disorganised and we had quite a wait for our hot food. Good cold selection. The outside areas are well maintained and very colourful with plants. A lovely weekend spent here with friends.

Several buildings with rooms made for an unusual layout and a ground-floor room for us. Unfortunately, there was a fair amount of noise from a neighbour (upstairs I think) - as a converted cottage, there was presumably less noise-deadening material in between the floors. Bathroom was a little "tired" but everything worked. Good location in the middle of the village.

The staff were brilliant throughout the stay. I he room was a little outdated but the bed was comfy.
Breakfast was good although it lacked the options of other hotels we’ve stayed in.
We ate st the hotel on the first night and I was surprised how quiet the restaurant was after eating a fantastic, reasonably priced meal.
As an overview, this could be a lovely place to stay if a little money was spent on the rooms. The staff and the food were superb and make the place what it is...

Underwhelming...
Bathroom radiator didn't work (this is December!)
No bathmat in bathroom
No coat hangers
Terrible condensation on bedroom window, which had caused paint to peel down to bare wood of window frame
Two picture hooks in wall, but no pictures...
Bathroom electric shower had very weak water flow
Otherwise, bed was comfortable

Upon arrival, junior suite heating not working. Moved to double room first floor which more comfortable and warm. Only dined in hotel at breakfast time. Very disappointed by limited range, presentation and quality of food served. I must say, the staff were courteous and friendly at all times. Overall, it was apparent that the hotel required more attention to detail in interior paintwork with plaster crumbling on some walls, perhaps damp. Despite the excellent location to visit family locally, would struggle to rebook there unless changes made.

I have stayed here before and the staff are as always friendly and helpful. There was a wedding party on this occasion so i suspect long hours however I was checked in promptly and the room was nice and toasty on a cold night. The room was a little in need of a refresh and the new management have plans for this but it did not detract from my stay.

Room was comfortable. Breakfast was good, although as a Sunday became busy between 9 - 9.30am and junior staff became flustered and disorganised.
Car parking was tight and on return to our car it had been bumped along with another car.

Definitely a ‘Basil Fawlty’ experience! It was late afternoon when we arrived and the man on reception may have been there all day but there was no need for him to be so unwelcoming and grumpy. He only seemed to smile when people were checking out. Room 5 was very small with a very uncomfortable springy mattress and a carpet in the bathroom!! A noisy room at the very top of the hotel just under the water tank that seemed to be constantly filling up. The buffet breakfast wasn’t replenished enough and ran out of the main food, such as bacon, eggs, sausage etc

This was a lovely friendly hotel. I have a warm welcome and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and took the time to have a chat as they did with everyone who came into the bar in the evening. Whilst the décor may not be the most modern it is a comfortable hotel to stay in. My room was a suite, the bed huge, but comfortable and I had all the usual necessities you would expect in a hotel. I ate in the hotel in the evening and the food was good. Even though I had to leave before breakfast was served the next morning, they went out of their way to make sure I had something to eat. All in all a lovely friendly hotel which I would go back to and it is very reasonably priced.

I stayed here as on business in the area.
It was easy enough to find and plenty of parking. On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The room was like stepping back in time, very 70’s style decor, So could do with some modernising.
The food was very good and well priced but
If u want modern and all mod cons then look elsewhere.

The room I had was massive with a good seating area by the tv. The bed was massive and comfortable, two people could starfish and not touch. The bathroom was as big as some rooms I’ve stayed in. Breakfast was lovely. I felt truly spoilt. Would stay again and would take my other half with me to get some browny points
