Good breakfast buffet options, helpful bilingual staff, comfortable stay. On a very busy road, so don’t expect quiet. Even noisier on weekends. Works fine if you are also a night owl who is up past midnight but would be tough for people who need to go to sleep early. Convenient for public transportation to/from, easy walk to several local points of interest.

The hotel has very different rooms: some are renovated and nice; some were quite old and ready for the next renovation ;) My bathroom was soo tiny that my body did not realy have the space it needed. But around the corner is the town center and the Weihnachtsmarkt is sooo nice! Breakfast was very good with very nice people caring about you :) All in all: Fair price for it ...and ask for a renovated room if possible ;)

Not a hotel for hot summers

The hotel is 2-3 stars. It was very clean, the room was a good size. BUT: the room I was given overlooked the tramstop outside on Thomas-Mann Strasse. There was no airconditioning, and with temperatures outside of c. 33C, I had a choice of a small amount of fresh air through the top of the window plus incessant tram noise from stopping and starting, or no fresh air and relative silence. It was very difficult to sleep during the first part of the night as a result. When I mentioned this to reception I was told that no airconditioning was a hotel policy, as it would double the electricity costs and reduce sustainability. My .argument that the extra electricity ciould be sourced renewably from wind or PV was ignored. Goopd breakfast (extra cost 12 Eur). .

I had the worst stay of my life at this hotel. It is unbearable during very warm days, as the lay afternoon sun hits its walls, which lack any isolation beyond its masonry. I could not tolerate the heat emanating from the walls and floor, and when I tried to open the windows, the noise of the tram stop right below my 2nd story room was impossible to ignore. There was a rather powerful fan available, but it useless in a room at such high temperatures. The staff tried to help, but the alternative rooms were even warmer. For the second night, they moved me to a room facing the back. While it was much cooler, it also suffered from the noise of large cargo trucks servicing a supermarket at the back street late at night. In any case, avoid this when Bonn is warm.

Friendly welcome, brilliant central location (though a bit noisy with trams outside). Comfortable bed and good variety for breakfast. Helpful about storing luggage after checkout too.
