We really enjoyed our stay at the Chiara lodge. The place was cute and well set up. The staff was super accommodating, even though we were traveling with some grumpy seniors. Breakfast was tasty. If you have mobility issues, you need to request one of the ground floor rooms ahead of time. There is no elevator. The location is about a 5 minute walk to the main train station. You can easily grab a train to Venice, which leaves every few minutes. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby and convenience stores to grab last-minute items. On my previous visits, I have stayed in Venice, but due to the mobility issues of some of our fellow travelers, I picked a place that would be more accommodating outside the city proper. However, from now on I think we will stay in Mestre at Chiara Lodge. Its super fast to get into Venice, you get a better room like Chiara, and its much more affordable.

The gentleman at the front desk could not have been friendlier. He honestly made the stay worthwhile. The breakfast was also excellent, and the selection was great for such a small hotel. The room was OK with plenty of room, but the bed was awful; the floor might have been more comfortable.

Staying at Chiara Lodge was an absolute delight. The location was perfect, just a short walking distance like 5 minutes to take the bus and train to Venice. The room was so comfortable and clean that make me feel I was home. It was really a peaceful retreat. I highly recommend Chiara Lodge for anyone looking for a charming and convenient place to stay in Venice. Thank you so much to the host, I don’t remember his name but he is the best!
