Beautiful spa, nice location within walking distance to hike in woods with waterfall and hokone open house museum, it was nice to have room with private onsen when traveling with kid to access lower bath temperature, onsen is very hot for kids. Food was a bit tricky for young kid from Sweden but a 7/11 is nearby to complement the hotels food, amazing food for grown ups

Our one night stay here was amazing and the location was great. The free robes and toiletries was a great touch. The rooms felt very Japanese and our balcony view was great to wake up too. As a travelling family of 7, the children absolutely loved the Hakone Open Air Musuem, which was a short walking distance away. The free shuttle bus service offered by the property to the train/bus station was really helpful too.

Cozy ryokan with a traditional japanese feel. Location is good near Kowakidani station to take you around Hakone area. Shuttle bus available from hotel. We liked that the ryokan was a bit away from the ”main” hotel areas of Gora/Hakone-Yumoto, tucked in in the forrest but still it was easy to get around. Very nice hotel facilities & calm / relaxing atmosphere. Perfect to recharge batteries between the intense big cities. We enjoyed the private onsens (rarely fully occupied) and the traditional kaiseki dinners. The room was amazing, clean and with own private bath and a nice interior. The service of the staff is great and they really put in an extra effort to try to give you the best stay possible.

This was a great location to enjoy the Hakone region. The rooms have a beautiful view of the tree covered hills (really wonderful with the fall colors). The food was really good and all the various hot spring options were fun. Need to go more than one day to see it all. Definitely worth the trip.

This is a hotel that has some of the qualities you would get at a proper ryokan. Japanese style rooms and architecture. Private baths on balcony was really nice. Both private and public onsens are available. Sauna, massages. They also have a restaurant and you can get a traditional kaiseki meal. The only thing I didn’t like was the staff encouraged us not to come saying they don’t serve vegetarian food and that’s it’s not available in Hakone. Hakone is not that small and there are probably more than a dozen places with veggie food. We had a great veggie curry walking distance from the hotel and many other meals. I wouldn’t keep that from making this your holiday destination. Hakone and this property are wonderful.
