This property is a historical building from 1888. It is an old building so do not expect anything modern but our stay was GREAT. Carlos, the property manager was super helpful and friendly. Made sure we felt safe, happy and had everything we needed. The a/c in floor #3 worked great. We were actually cold at night but had enough blankets and pillows to sleep comfortably. The hotel is right by a busy street so expect some noise at night. There a 3 good restaurants right around the corner and the hotel is centrally located in walking distance to many important spots.

Stayed here for three nights on a business trip. Really good. very clean, helpful staff, less than a 5 min walk from Los Ramblas. Ideal for someone travelling on their own. I got there late and the taxi driver suggested not walking around too much on my own in the area as it wasn't very safe. While I was there I neither saw or heard anything to make you unduly nervous.

I’d give this hotel a solid A-. It was clean and had everything you could reasonably expect. The staff were very pleasant and I felt safe with their security from the bustle on the street. The only thing I didn’t understand was why the fridge was a “cooler”, not a real refrigerator. I would have appreciated the ability to keep take-away food fresh.

Friendly staff and conveniently placed in the center of town. If you are looking for a cheap hotel this is perfect. However, the room was small with not much space to put things eg bathroom and table in the room. The kettle never boiled the water, the hairdryer turned off halfway through drying my hair. The price was very fair but I would chose a bit more comfort next time I visit.

Overall the Alba Hotel useful because of its central location, superb staff and cleanliness. On the other hand, the "King" room we booked with Expedia turned out to be small with a short "Queen" size bed. And the room was on a noisy alley despite our reservation containing a note that we desired a quietly located room. The room rates we paid were too high compared to the afirementioned issues we encountered.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly; the hotel is very clean... The area around is unsafe: people we selling and doing drugs almost in front of the hotel; there weren't any sockets in the room except for the fridge on the opposite side of the room and in the bathroom. So, it was challenging to charge my gadgets and use my phone in bed. The heater also didn't work. The view from my window was on someone's mattress, and garbage was all around this mattress. The internet was very poor as well. Mainly good connection was outside the room, on the floor. Also, it's very noisy outside. I'm fine with noise, but for those who are planning to stay for long and have a proper rest, this might be disturbing.

Horrible experience of staying in this hotel. Unprofessional and rude staff. Smell in the room and washroom. First hotel in Spain without room intercom or phone. Internet was not working and after many complaints the rude staff was not resolving the issue. This type of hotel should not be more than 1 star rating . No value of money spent .

Nice and clean hotel, very helpful and friendly staff. Please make sure to notify then in advance if you would need a double bed or toilet for disabled person, as not all rooms have these facilities. The neighbourhood is somewhat sketchy, beware of pickpockets.
