Quaint, Swiss chalet perfection. Steps from train station, but up in a hill to view quintessential Swiss mountain views. Immaculately clean. Expertly decorated and maintained. Staff/owners were accommodating to every need and friendly. Breakfast buffet was unmatched- maybe the best croissants I’ve ever had. I loved it here. I paid approximately CHF 1,400 for three nights, so I naturally expected a level of quality that would be appropriate for such a price. Unfortunately, I did not feel that the hotel offered good value at that price. To be fair, this is a new and nice hotel, and I have no major complaints about the quality of the hotel itself. My concern is that the price seems far too high in relation to what is actually offered. I have seen many positive reviews mentioning the good breakfast, clean rooms, and other nice aspects of the hotel. I do not disagree with these comments. However, I wonder whether these guests would feel the same way if they considered the hotel specifically in terms of value for money at this price level. My concern is therefore not simply that the hotel is expensive, or that the hotel itself is trying to overcharge guests. Rather, I question whether the booking platform does enough to assess whether the price it offers is reasonably consistent with the quality and facilities of the hotel. When a hotel is listed at around CHF 1,400 for three nights, I believe guests are entitled to expect a correspondingly high level of quality.

Closy family hotel

The hotel is slightly elevated and is just a short walk from Grindelwald station, making it both quiet and convenient. The room was spacious and spotless, and the breakfast was delightful, especially the sesame bread and cold cuts. The host’s friendly cat greeted us warmly and even played with us, adding a special touch to our stay. We stayed for five nights and truly appreciated the excellent balance of price and quality of service.

We loved it, incredible service and attention, nice breakfast, rooms nice and clean. The only thing it was challenging was to arrive to the hotel through an slipery up hill street with the suitcases but we for sure will go back and absolutely do recomend the hotel.
