The cabins were quite nice and easy and comfortable to stay in, the location was good as we were hiking in Glacier and eating mostly in Whitefish, and we even hiked out behind the cabins, which was quite pleasant. The Wi-Fi worked well, and so did the TV. We had no complaints whatsoever. The people working at the front desk were really nice, and they gave us bear spray and coffee!

Cabins was very clean and well stocked. They even provided coffee filters and local, fresh ground coffee (small thing but most places don't provide these items if the rooms have full kitchens). Conveniently located between Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Glacier National Park. The property has a nice walking trail through their wooded property in the back which is about 2 km (1.2 miles) long that is great for walking you dog, which we did 2-3 times per day. The hot tub/laundry facility were nice and never crowded. There are 2 hot tubs - 4 person and 8 person - very relaxing after a day of activities. The beds were nice and comfortable but the sofa bed was not. We only stayed a couple of nights (family of 5) so it was not too much of an issue but if you were staying a week or more, it could be an issue. The wifi was slow and sporadic even though is was in each cabin. Not too much of an issue except if you tried to watch a movie on Netflix (which was available). Kept getting errors that it could not connect even when we disconnect our devices from the wifi. All in all, would happy go back...

Beautiful property and cabin. We stayed in the largest of these. A great cabin in the woods with all the amenities. Good access, good parking. The cabin itself was amazing. Full kitchen with everything. Great bedrooms and baths. Living areas were very comfortable. When in Whitefish again, will look to stay here first.

Quiet and dark makes for excellent rest. We suspect our early season stay was fortuitous because the Big Wheels and tricycles left when we arrived. The cabins are terrific - not some aging pretender. The property is upscale and well laid out with easy driving to Whitefish where great food awaits.

Customer Service problems at North 40

We had some real problems with the North 40 Resort, which was very unfortunate given how lovely the property is. The gist of the matter is that when we checked in, we let them know that we had a really important telephone call the next morning at 10:30am, and made a special request to have some leeway with the 11:00am check out. The person who checked us in informed us that it would be no problem if we stayed longer, until say 11:30am or 12pm. Evidently, that message was never conveyed to the morning staff. The front desk called me at 11:15am and very rudely reminded me that check out time was 11am. I explained that we had arranged a slightly later check out because of a commitment we had at 10:30am and were assured that this was not going to be a problem. When we got out to front desk on the way out and returned the keys, I thanked them for the extra 20-30 minutes, and got another rude remark. This was really unfortunate given that they only about three cabins occupied the previous night. It should have been really easy for them to accommodate us. Given the customer service debacles at North 40, I don't think I could recommend them to anyone. Sorry about that!

Great cabin, minus the dog hair.

Very quiet resort. Adorable cabins stocked with cookware, dishes basically anything you need to cook your own meals. We must have ended up in a pet friendly cabin because there was dog hair on both bed comforters and the coffee table. Not the end of the world as we are dog people, but the cleaning could have been better. Only coffee provided was decaf but a quick trip to the front desk solved that problem. Hot tub was too far to walk in single digit weather but it would be a nice amenity in better weather.

Cutest cabins just outside of Whitefish

North Forty Resort was a little piece of heaven just outside of Whitefish. The central location to Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Glacier National Park and Whitefish is what initially drew us here. The fair and low price helped too! Our cabin was cute, cozy and with all of the comforts of home (including NETFLIX!) The staff made sure we were happy and taken care of(Thank you to Heidi for her tips). We loved the sauna,hot tub and the walking trail! We are already planning our next trip to Montana and will be staying at North Forty! Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Perfect Cabin for us and our dog!

Amazing staff! Staff was so friendly! And we LOVED OUR CABIN! There were two hot tubs and trails to walk our dog all around the property! Close to town and close to skiing! We will 100% be back!

This place is a great little find. Cabins are excellent and well appointed with everything we needed. The staff was very friendly. The only hiccup was one of the hot tubs was down the whole time we were there and both were down one night.
